But ... I am equally happy to have been featured in the Vernon Morning Star's annual Women in Business insert, which was published earlier this week. I had a giggle at the first line of the story ..."TJ Wallis has not let a few bad choices early in life stop her from attaining success." I confess, I might have worded that opening sentence a little differently.
It is true I was a teenage Mom - and for that I am eternally grateful. I had moved out of my parents' home the year before I got pregnant, so I already knew I could support myself. Being a young Mom taught me that I could dig deep when things got tough, that I was stronger than I knew was possible. My children inspired me to want to do better for them. I believe those early experiences helped prepare me for the commitment and tenacity needed to be successful in business.
